“When I reflect on what makes this community so special to me, it is the palpable feeling of profound trust between students and teachers.”

I miss walking into the studio on Thursday mornings and hearing a dozen different [loud] conversations happening, and the contrast of that to the quiet hum when practice ended. Thursday mornings were my favourite. The magic that unfolded during those 90 minutes in studio always left me buzzing. When I reflect on what makes this community so special to me, it is the palpable feeling of profound trust between students and teachers. Trust that was developed over time. Trust that was earned. And as a result of it, trust that empowered many who walked through those doors, to explore and express their relationship with breath and movement, spirit and body. That trust allowed me to take risks as a teacher (safe, non-harmful risks), that helped me grow both in that role and as an individual. I am forever grateful to you JP for fostering that faith at Ahimsa, for supporting me through this journey over the last 8 years, and for your transparency, candour and grace over the last 6 months. Ahimsa Toronto is a special place, it feels like home; and the community of teachers and students there, are unlike any other. AND!! I met my husband at Ahimsa! So I guess I owe you a major thank you for that ; ) I look forward to seeing how this next chapter unfolds. With warmth and gratitude.
